Visiting us for the first time
When should I get there? The service starts at 10.30, but the church is open from about 10.00. If you happen to be late you are still welcome but please try not to disturb others as you enter.
Do you have disabled access? Yes we do. Although there are two steps up from the street to our entrance, we also have a ramp which suitable for both wheelchairs and those who find steps difficult. We have a disabled toilet just inside the main entrance.
What should I wear? Whatever makes you feel comfortable. Some people like to put on their ‘Sunday best’ clothes and dress smartly; others come in jeans and a t-shirt. All are welcome.
Where do I sit? Sit anywhere and ask someone if you are not sure.
What happens? We have no set liturgy or set order of service, but there will be singing and prayers and a speaker will talk about a passage from the Bible.
We sing a mix of songs including both traditional hymns and more modern worship songs accompanied by our musicians – typically, a piano/organ, guitar and violin. Words for songs are projected onto a screen at the front of the church but hymn books are available for those who prefer to use them.

The reading and preaching of the Bible stands at the heart of our worship and most services are themed around a passage of the Bible. In family and parade services, the teaching tends to be delivered in a more interactive way. We tend to use the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible and there are copies of this translation in the pews. You can also access the NIV (and other translations) online at the Bible Gateway site
On the third Sunday in each month we celebrate communion in the final part of the service. You can find out more by following the link.
Do you take an offering? Yes we do. The offering is taken as part of each service. This is a chance for our members and friends to financially support the church and the work it is doing.
If you are a visitor to our church we do not expect you to give during the offering unless you would like to. If you are not putting anything in the collection please pass the bag to the next person or indicate 'no' if you are at the end of a row.
What happens after the service? After the service you are invited to join us for a tea or coffee, this is a good time to meet others in the church and find out more about them. As you leave church the minister or another member of the church leadership is usually at the door saying goodbye to everyone individually. We believe that the church is the family of God and that we are called into relationship with each other and we hope your welcome at our church expresses that family love.
