Welcome to the Winchmore Hill Baptist Church (WHBC) website.
WHBC has a long history, going back over 350 years. We have been worshipping in our current building in Winchmore Hill, in the London Borough of Enfield, since 1907.
Today we are a group of ordinary people of all ages and from all types of background who
are seeking to follow Jesus Christ together and to share in God’s mission in God’s world.
If you are simply trying to find a way to scratch a spiritual itch or are already a committed Christian there is a place for you to journey with us.
If you would like to know more, have a look around our website or even better pop in and
join us one Sunday.
We do hope to have the chance to meet you in person.
Advent & Christmas
This year in Advent we are exploring the Christmas Story through the eyes of Mary and reflecting on how Mary's response to the gift of the Christ-child might inform our response.
Our Regional Minister Phil Barnard began our series on 27th November by exploring the theme of Mary as Obedient Servant (Luke 1:26-38). On 4th December we thought about Mary as Revolutionary Poet (Luke 1:39-56).
The series continues as follows:
18th December: Mary as God-bearer (Luke 2:1-7)
25th December: Mary as Pondering Mother (Luke 2:8-20)
Our morning service on 11th December is our family carol service where we are joined by the choir of Highfield School and on the evening of 18th December we will be holding our Carols by Candlelight Service

The Sunday Service is the time the whole church family come together to worship God. Our worship begins at 10.30 a.m. and generally finishes between 11.45 a.m. and 12 noon.
Children and young people join us for the first part of the service before going to their own activities. There is also a crèche for the very young.
Once a month, usually on the third Sunday, we celebrate communion together.
After the service many people stay behind for refreshments and a chance to chat.
You can find more information about our services on our worship page.
Each year we prepare an Annual Report outlining the Church's activities during the year.
The report for our activities in 2015, including the accounts, can be found by clicking the button below.
