Thank you!
Thanks for your interest in giving and finances at Winchmore Hill Baptist Church. This page explains the different ways available to you to give, and where the money goes.
Giving to the church is an important part of our worship. If you are a visitor to the church there is no expectation on you to give. Amongst the regular members of our congregation some people choose to tithe and give a set percentage of their income to the church while others give what they can afford. There is no set amount, how much you give is a decision you must make with God considering your own circumstances. If you request it a member of the church leadership team could talk to you about this but we will never pressurise you into giving anything if you are not able or willing and apart from the church treasurer no one need know what you give.

Gift Aid
This enables us to reclaim income or capital gains tax paid by individuals on donations from them and is a very useful supplement to our income.
For regular donations, Gift Aid declarations are available from our treasurer. For occasional gifts Gift Aid envelopes are available in the church foyer.

How is Winchmore Hill Baptist Church funded?
We are an independent church that is completely self-financing through the church members and attendees. We receive no denominational or external funding and a very small amount from trust funds. This means that we share responsibility for the finances of the church.
From time to time we have special appeals where we donate money directly to other Christian causes – such as at Harvest time and Christmas.

How is the Money Spent?
Our General Fund is used to pay for the running costs of the church (including paying our minister) and other general payments. We also support our partners who are engaged in mission elsewhere and other Christian organisations from this fund. Each year we set a budget to cover the anticipated expenditure. This fund is where donations are allocated unless the donor specifies otherwise.
We also have the following funds for particular purposes:
* Fellowship Fund to assist from time to time those with a particular need.
* Building Fund to pay for work to the fabric and “new” projects to upgrade the premises.
* Youth Fund to support our ministry to young people.
