1st  Winchmore  Hill  Girls’  Brigade  Company
GB Week: 27th Feb– 6th March

There are GB Week envelopes on the pews on 28th February and if you feel that you would like to make a donation for the work of the Brigade please do so and put this into the offering or give to a GB Officer. The Girls’ Brigade appreciates your help during this special week.
This year for Brigade Week on Tuesday 2nd March the girls are doing a Sponsored “Water Event”. Each girl will be able to see how many she can score in two minutes.
The money raised by the girls will be going towards World Water Day Appeal and GB funds.
The Officers, Helpers and Girls would like to thank the church for all their support over the past year.

 

Celebrate Easter

The Easter weekend will begin as usual with Maundy Thursday Communion on 1st April at 8 pm.
The Good Friday service will be at our church, with members of Winchmore Hill URC. Their minister Revd Ray Adams will be preaching. We will then be joining other churches in the district for the walk of witness.
On Easter Sunday there will be a family service at the usual time of 10.30.
Easter weekend services will  conclude with Presence Communion on Sunday evening - details to be announced later.


Annual General Meeting

Saturday 27th March 

4 pm in Carey Hall

Starts with Communion, includes election of deacons, ends with refreshments.

Put the date in your diary now.

Everyone from the congregation is welcome to attend; only church members may vote.

Jews for Jesus
A representative from Jews for Jesus will be visiting us on the evening of 7th March to give a presentation about the Passover and its relevance to Christians. This is part of our Lent preparations for Good Friday.

Lent meetings 2010
The Palmers Green and Winchmore Hill group of churches is putting on a series of Lent meetings on Tuesday evenings at Winchmore Hill Methodist Church, (in Green Lanes, opposite Barrowell Green). Each meeting starts at 8 pm, will finish with light refreshments served at 9 pm and will be led by a minister from a different church. There will be reflections on Bible passages about the ministry and passion of Christ, a recorded monologue produced by the BBC and group discussion and prayer. 
The first meeting was on 23rd February; the remaining meetings in the series are:

9th March: ‘Barabbas’ – performed by Joss Ackland  
16th March: ‘The Mourner’ – performed by Eileen Atkins  
23rd March: ‘The Thief’ – performed by Jonathan Price
