Lord Jesus
I give you my hands to do your work I give you my feet to go your way I give you my eyes to see as you do I give you my tongue to speak your words I give you my mind that you may think in me I give you my spirit that you may pray in me Above all, I give you my heart that you may love in me your Father and all mankind I give you my whole self that you may grow in me so that it is you Lord Jesus who live and work and pray in me. Amen We held our annual work day on Saturday 20th February, as usual there were many jobs to do, most of which have not been done since last year or have been waiting sometime. We had a great turnout on the day & we got through a good chunk of the work that we had hoped to achieve.
Most of the jobs were centred around cleaning various parts of the church & painting the Clifford Wood Room. By the end of the day we had made a great start, painting one coat on the walls both above & beneath the dado rail & also removing the kitchen. Another great job also completed was work to the new Meeting Room (formerly the Ministers Vestry), this has now been carpeted & is ready for use. I would like to thank everyone who turned up on the day, I hope I have not missed anyone, so here goes: Andy & Rachel.M, Jenny.M , Veronica, Tim & Caroline, Tina, John & Debbie, Billy, John.B, Coral, Keith & Barb, Philip & Chris, David Joseph, Andrew & Rachel .F, Andy .P. The Clifford Wood Room work has since carried on over many nights & weekends, including a second coat on the walls, painting the woodwork, installing the kitchen, replacing the lighting, upgrades to the toilet area, tiling to the kitchen area, flooring to the kitchen and the finishing touches to get the hall ready for use. I would like to thank Keith, Andy.M, Jackie, Jimmy Leech, Andrew Norman, George Norman for their help in the extra works undertaken above. But special thanks must go to John.M, Tim & Kevin for all the hours they have spent on this project, without their help we would not be looking at the finished article now. The hall is now basically finished we are just completing the last few jobs. We hope you will enjoy the new facilities which it now offers, including USB sockets to charge your phone or tablet. We would appreciate people’s support in keeping the hall clean & presentable for all that may use it. If you have any posters to display please use the notice boards provided. Additional tables & chairs can now be found in the tunnel, so we have more space available in the hall. I am pleased to say I think we have transformed the hall from a tired & dull room to a bright modern welcoming space for all to use. Once again many thanks to all those that have helped in any way, & I look forward to working with you again on a future project. "Every 60 seconds, a child dies of malaria
In Nigeria alone, around 250,000 children die of the disease every year. But malaria is entirely preventable. As we count down to Christmas, be part of our life-saving work to provide mosquito nets and train community health volunteers." On Christmas Day, our offering will go to Christian Aid Christmas Appeal to support this work. Thank you for your generosity at yesterday's toy service. The toys will be delivered to the Foodbank tomorrow.
"What if?" Andy showed us this video on Sunday before our intercessions. In it Annie Dupree reflects on how the church can respond to the horrible conditions in which Roma people live in Albania?
What if... from BMS World Mission on Vimeo. Yesterday, we were learning something about the Dupree family who are BMS Mission Workers in Albania. You can find out more about them and the work they are doing by following the link below:

Rembrandt's classic painting depicting the lost son coming home is displayed at on display at the Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg. You can find a brief introduction to the painting on Wikipedia.
This is the title of a Bible Study course that Barb Richardson is running for ladies. You can find more details on our coming events page. On Sunday we were able to join with Coral and Cliff in giving thanks to God for their Diamond Wedding Anniversary. Coral and Cliff were married in our church on 30th July 1955.
